Most people don’t fail at Facebook advertising because they can’t run ads.
They fail at step one — adding a payment method.
Maybe your card gets declined. Maybe your bank flags the transaction. Maybe you just don’t want Facebook holding your real card details. Whatever the reason, the fix is the same: use a virtual credit card.
This guide walks you through the entire process — from getting a virtual card to launching your first campaign — with zero fluff.
The Tool You Actually Need: Pikabao Virtual Card
Before anything else, get your virtual card sorted.
Pikabao issues Visa virtual cards that work on Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, and most major ad platforms. You get a full card number, expiration date, CVV, and a billing address — everything Facebook’s payment system requires.
Cards are issued within minutes. You load exactly what you need. No exposure of your real bank details.

What You Need Before You Start
1. A funded virtual card.
Facebook will charge a small authorization fee — usually around $1 — when you add a card. It’s refunded, but your balance needs to cover it. Load at least $20 to cover the verification and give yourself room to run a test campaign.
2. A Facebook account in good standing.
A brand-new account with no activity history is a red flag to Facebook’s system. Use an account that’s been active for at least a few weeks, with real profile information. This isn’t optional — it directly affects whether your ad account gets approved.
Step 1: Access Facebook Ads Manager
Go to: https://business.facebook.com/adsmanager
If this is your first time, Facebook will walk you through creating an ad account.
Fill in your account name, time zone, and currency. Set the currency to USD — it matches Pikabao’s default settlement currency and keeps things clean.
Step 2: Add Your Virtual Card
Once inside your ad account, navigate to:
Settings → Payment Methods → Add Payment Method → Credit or Debit Card
Enter the following from your Pikabao card details:
- Cardholder name (exactly as shown on your Pikabao card)
- 16-digit card number
- Expiration date (MM/YY)
- CVV (3-digit security code)
- Billing address (use the address Pikabao provides — copy it exactly)
The billing address is where most people mess up.
Facebook cross-checks your billing address against the card issuer’s records. If there’s a mismatch — even a typo — the payment will fail. Don’t guess or use a random address. Pikabao gives you the full billing address when your card is issued. Use that, word for word.
Step 3: Complete 3D Secure Verification
After submitting your card details, Facebook may trigger a 3D Secure authentication step. This is a standard security check that confirms you’re the authorized cardholder.
A verification prompt will appear — follow the instructions to confirm the transaction.
Pikabao cards support 3D Secure. Once verified, your card is added and your payment method is active.
Step 4: Create Your First Campaign
With billing sorted, click Create Ad and choose your campaign objective.
Pick based on what you actually want:
- Traffic — send people to a website or landing page
- Conversions — optimize for purchases, sign-ups, or other actions
- Engagement — grow page likes, post interactions, or event responses
- Leads — collect contact info directly within Facebook
Choose the wrong objective and the algorithm will optimize for the wrong thing. Your budget will get spent, but the results won’t match your goals.
Set your audience, daily budget, schedule, and creative. In the payment step, confirm your Pikabao virtual card is selected, then submit.
Step 5: Let the Review Run — Don’t Touch Anything
Facebook reviews every ad before it goes live. This typically takes a few hours, sometimes up to 24 hours for new accounts.
During this time: don’t edit the ad, don’t swap payment methods, don’t make changes to the account.
Facebook’s system flags unusual activity as a risk signal. Constant edits or payment method changes can delay your review or trigger an account restriction.
Once approved, your ad starts running.
Troubleshooting: Actual Solutions
Payment declined or card rejected
Check your balance first. Then double-check that the billing address matches exactly what Pikabao provided. If both are correct and it’s still failing, the issue may be with that specific card’s BIN range. Request a new card from Pikabao and try again — different card batches have different acceptance rates on ad platforms.
Ad account restricted or ads disapproved
Review your ad content against Facebook’s advertising policies. Common triggers include exaggerated claims, before/after comparisons, financial or health-related language, and anything that looks like clickbait.
If your account gets restricted, use the in-platform appeal process and be prepared to submit ID verification. Resolution typically takes 3 to 7 business days.
Can’t add a payment method at all
This is almost always a billing address issue. Go back to your Pikabao card details and copy the billing information field by field — don’t type it from memory. A single character difference will cause the validation to fail.
Ads running but not converting
At this point, the virtual card isn’t the problem. Look at your targeting (too narrow or too broad), your creative (low click-through rate), and your landing page (high bounce rate or poor UX). These three areas account for the vast majority of underperforming campaigns.
The Bottom Line
A virtual card removes the payment barrier so you can actually get into Facebook’s ad system.
But the card is just the key to the door. What you do inside — your targeting, your creative, your offer — is what determines your results.
Get the setup right first. Then focus on the strategy.
