Make Sure You’re on the International Site, Not the China Site

Register Your Alibaba Cloud International Account
Head to https://www.alibabacloud.com
Click the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.
Use Gmail or Outlook for your email address. Domestic email services sometimes trigger the system’s fraud detection.
During registration, select “Individual Account” and choose Hong Kong or Singapore as your region. These two regions have the highest approval rates.
For identity verification, upload a photo of your passport or driver’s license. You don’t need to stress too much about this step—some services work fine even without full verification.
Link Your Virtual Credit Card to Alibaba Cloud
Log in to your Alibaba Cloud account and go to the console.
Find the “Billing Management” section and click into it.
Look for the “Add Payment Method” button and click it to add a new payment method.
You’ll need to enter your virtual card details:
- Card number (16-digit)
- Expiration date (month/year)
- CVV (3-digit code on the back)
- Billing address (use the address associated with your virtual card, such as the one Pikabao provides)

Time to Purchase Your Server
In the console, find “Elastic Compute Service” (ECS).

Once you’ve confirmed everything is working, you can switch to monthly or yearly billing, which is significantly cheaper.

Back in the console, navigate to “Domain & Website” and then “Domains.”
Search for the domain you want. Options include .com, .net, .cloud, and many others.

Here’s one important thing many people miss: after you buy a domain, you must complete identity verification before you can actually use it. Upload a photo of your passport or driver’s license.

Payment Failed? Here’s What to Do
Your virtual card balance is too low
This is the most common reason. Make sure you have enough funds before attempting to purchase. I’d recommend maintaining at least $10 USD in the card at all times.
Your card is being flagged as a prepaid card
